Storyhouse Spirits
A craft distillery in San Diego's East Village, shot the way it feels inside: warm light, cool steel, and a lot of barrels.

The brief
My friend Eric runs Storyhouse Spirits, a downtown distillery making gin, bourbon, and rye. This shoot was all about the distillery itself: the barrels, the stills, the people, and the bottle that comes out the other end.
The approach
I shot mostly on 35mm film and let the room set the mood. Hard light through the doors, deep shadows between the barrels, and the bottle wherever the light happened to land.
The floor
Barrels, steel, and the people who run it

The details
Oak, steel, and warm light

The bottle
Wherever the light landed

“Thanks for all of your time and effort on this project! The pics are fantastic!”
Eric, Storyhouse Spirits
The result
A full set of film images of the distillery, from the still to the bottle, made for Storyhouse to use on its site and socials.
